La Rocchetta dates back to the year 1760. it started out at as a barn situated on the banks of the Marrara river valley, at the mouth of the first right flanking tributary of the Po river, called the Primaro Po.
Over the years it became a Farmhouse. La Rocchetta Farmhouse opened its doors in the year 2000 thanks to founder’s wish to propose a return to Nature and tradition, to the culture of our grandfathers and the natural rhythm of the seasons, in a world that is quickly losing touch with its environment.
This desire to rekindle emotions and return to the simple pleasures of living is not meant as a nostalgic trip into the past but as a comprehensive effort to recover and highlight the complexities of our history, with the farmhouse as a bridge linking the past with future.
The “La Rocchetta” Farmhouse is surrounded by countryside, lime trees, elm, ash, black locust trees and green fields. It is close to the Renaissance heart of the city of Ferrara but far from the hustle and bustle of the centre. Twelve hectares of organically planted fruit orchards, corn, vegetables, herb gardens and animal life make up the farm and its grounds! An evening walk at sunset through the scents and sounds of the surrounding countryside is a must.
At the La Rocchetta Restaurant you can try the traditional local delicacies made according to the original recipes and using organic home grown produce. You will be met with cordiality and you will be able to enjoy all the of the following: tranquillity, Nature, animals, flowers, aromatic and medicinal herbs, a play area, a sports area, picturesque bicycle routes and visits to the beautiful city of Ferrara.
All our proposals are offered with the love for a job that allows us to meet lots of interesting people, share our traditions, our experience and, why not, even our fog.
From season 2006, your summer will be refreshing at farmhouse La Rocchetta, for our guests stays at their disposal a large swimming pool merged in the wild nature.
